Correa rocked by central bank scandal

“It has given carrion to the vultures to feast on.” This was how Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa reacted to the admission by his cousin and central bank president, Pedro Delgado, that he had lied about obtaining an economics degree in order to study for an MBA at the Incae Business School in Costa Rica 22 years ago. Delgado tendered his resignation and travelled to Miami.
