PERU: Trying to build a case against Movadef

With the trial of ‘Camarada Artemio’ as background, the Humala government has been pushing the prosecution service to bring charges of eulogising and taking part in terrorist activity against the top leaders of Movadef. It claims to have conclusive proof that Movadeh and Sendero Luminoso are one and the same thing. So far, however, it has only publicly pointed to the fact that both profess the same ideology that attaches ‘Gonzalo Thought’ (the ideas of Abimael Guzmán) to Marxism-Leninism and Maoism.
