MEXICO: Opposition attacks PRI over Tabasco governor

The ruling Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) has come under fire from the two main opposition parties in Mexico over the alleged corruption of its former governor of the state of Tabasco, Andrés Granier Melo. The state prosecutor’s office summoned Granier Melo on 31 May to explain the diversion of M$23bn (US$1.8bn) from state coffers during his sexenio, but he failed to turn up, claiming that he had not been formally notified.
