Via her new favourite medium, Twitter, President Dilma Rousseff announced that in April 2014 Brazil plans to host an international summit about the use and regulation of the Internet. Her tweet came just days after the Canadian ambassador in Brasília was hauled in to explain the latest spying allegations involving the Brazilian government. The Rousseff executive has asked the federal congress to approve urgently the pending new ‘Internet Constitution’, which Rousseff hopes to use as a platform at the United Nations (UN) to push for her proposed civilian multilateral framework for the governance and use of the Internet.
