DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Regional backlash over TC ruling

Opposition to the September 2013 ruling by the Dominican Republic (DR)’s constitutional court (TC) denying children of undocumented migrants born in the DR the automatic right to Dominican nationality [RC-13-10] continues to mount. The DR’s Caribbean neighbours are now threatening to ostracise the country from sub-regional forums if the government led by President Danilo Medina does not overturn the contentious ruling.
