More prominent LCT members arrested. On 17 March Michoacán state authorities announced that federal security forces had arrested two more suspected members of the Los Caballeros Templarios (LCT) criminal organisation including Manuel Plancarte Gaspar, the nephew of the LCT’s second-in-command Enrique ‘Kike’ Plancarte Solís. This is another blow to the LCT and a victory for the efforts by the Mexican government led by President Enrique Peña Nieto to restore law and order in the troubled state. Michoacán’s public security minister, Carlos Hugo Castellanos, said that Plancarte Gaspar and another man identified as Ricardo Morales Torres were arrested by the authorities near the municipality of Tarímbaro on 13 March in possession of drugs and a stolen vehicle. According to Castellanos, both are wanted on several murder charges and for running an illegal human organ trafficking ring that preyed on local minors. Plancarte Gaspar’s arrest could help expedite the capture of his uncle, one of the security forces’ main targets. There is a M$10m (US$770,000) reward for information leading to Plancarte Solís's detention.
