Bolivia flooding raises concerns about deforestation

The recent floods in Bolivia, which killed at least 60 people, prompted concerns about the potential impact of new ‘mega-dams’ in neighbouring Brazil [RA-14-03]. However, they have also re-focused attention on another environmental issue of growing concern in the Andean region – deforestation.
