POLITICS: Judiciary under renewed scrutiny

In the latest Ipsos Apoyo poll, over two thirds of Peruvians (64%) said that crime and a deteriorating public security situation were the main problems in the country. Over a third (37%) said insecurity was the main problem affecting people on a daily basis. Hardly surprising then that 50% of poll respondents pointed up President Ollanta Humala’s apparent inability to improve public security as the main reason for their disapproval of him.
