MEXICO | ‘Neutralising relevant objectives’. On 13 March interior minister Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong announced that the authorities had ‘neutralised’ 80 of the 122 ‘relevant objectives’ defined by the federal and state governments. In the current officialese of the Enrique Peña Nieto administration ‘priority [or relevant] objectives’ is equivalent to ‘most wanted criminals’ or ‘kingpins’.
