Is Sinaloa up next for a federal intervention?

After conducting a seemingly successful federal security intervention in the state of Michoacán, the government led by President Enrique Peña Nieto has moved quickly to launch a similar initiative in the north-eastern border state of Tamaulipas. Yet as Mexico’s violence has a tendency to quickly spread from one area to another, there already are indications that the federal government is preparing to launch yet another intervention, this time in the north-western state of Sinaloa.
