MEXICO-US | ‘US Marshals in local operations’. On 22 November the
Wall Street Journal published a report according to which ‘about four times a year the US Marshals Service sends a handful of specialists into Mexico who take up local uniforms and weapons to hide their role hunting suspects, including some who aren’t on a US wanted list.’ These missions, it says, ‘are approved by senior US Marshals executives and by leaders within the Mexican Marines.’ The information is attributed to unnamed ‘people familiar with the matter’.
