Development: On 16 December Brazilian daily, Valor Económico, published documents found in the offices of construction company, OAS, which suggest that the company donated US$1m to the campaign of Alejandro Sinibaldi, the Guatemalan pre-candidate of the ruling Partido Patriota (PP) ahead of the September 2015 general elections; and that it may have also helped fund Costa Rica’s Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC)’s electoral campaign this year, which led to the PAC’s Luis Guillermo Solís becoming elected for a four-year presidential term.
