POLITICS: Justice Minister may avoid censure but government will remain under pressure

The results of the latest Ipsos-Apoyo public opinion survey, published on 14 December in the local daily El Comercio, may provide some relief to President Ollanta Humala, who has seen his popular approval levels plummet to about 20% this year. The latest survey, taken on 6-11 December, showed a slight recovery in the president’s approval rating to 30%. However, over thirds of respondents (64%) still disapproved of his administration.
