Unemployment falls but job creation is still not fast enough

The national unemployment rate was 3.7% in December 2014, on official figures from the national statistics institute (Inegi), the lowest rate in seven years. According to the social security institute (IMSS), a record 714,000 formal jobs were created in Mexico last year. However, the rate of job creation is not fast enough to soak up new entrants and the problem of under-employment and informality is still a very big one for the Peña Nieto government.
