PARAGUAY: More troops in response to new EPP raid

President Horacio Cartes has ordered troop reinforcements in the northern departments of Concepción and San Pedro, in the wake of a late-January raid by the guerrillas of the Ejército del Pueblo Paraguayo (EPP) which claimed the lives of two hostages and prompted strong criticism of the ability of the combined military-police task force to defeat the insurgents.
