Give peace a chance?

The government insists that Mexico is becoming more secure. Many opposition parties and lobby groups argue the contrary, stressing the continuing threat to citizens coming from criminality, corruption, and widespread violations of human rights. A detailed report compiled by the London-based Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) says that the overall picture is complex, but that there have in fact been real improvements over the last two years.
