Efforts to mitigate climate change in the Andean
The Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and the French Agency for Development (AFD) have inked a deal assigning an €100m (US$106m) loan to the CAF to finance projects aimed at mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to the impact of climate change in cities in five countries in Latin America. Four are in the Andean (Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia), underlining the sub-region’s vulnerability to climate change.
