POINTERS

BRAZIL | Anti-Dilma marches shrink. Marches on 12 April to demand the resignation or ouster by impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff were far smaller than those of a month earlier. In São Paulo, where in March the military police (PM) had estimated a turnout of about a million (a figure disputed by the polling firm Datafolha as biased and inaccurate), this time round it put the figure at 275,000 — a shrinkage of more than a quarter. In Rio attendance was put at 25,000, in Belo Horizonte at 5,000.
