Boosting ties with Russia: Chile’s foreign minister, Heraldo Muñoz, paid a visit to Moscow in April where he met his Russian counterpart, Serguei Lavrov. According to a Chilean foreign ministry press release marking the visit, bilateral trade reached more than US$800m in 2014, of which Chile’s exports were worth US$771m, up 20% on the previous year. Russia is Chile’s 14
th largest export market (accounting for 2% of its exports in 2014) and Chile’s 57
th largest import supplier, accounting for just 0.1% of imports in 2014.
