POLITICS: Primary season continues as presidential race shapes up

Elections were held in the provinces of Santa Fe and Río Negro on 14 June, as part of the run-up to general polls due in October. The ruling Frente para la Victoria (FPV) faction of the Partido Justicialista (PJ, Peronists) was not a serious contender in either of the two provinces, but the results are nevertheless a pointer to the strength of the political opposition.
