BOLIVIA: More referenditis in Bolivia

President Evo Morales is one step closer to seeking another re-election. Last week Bolivia’s 166-member bicameral legislature (which is controlled by his Movimiento al Socialismo [MAS]) approved a legislative bill to partially modify the 2009 constitution, so as to allow him to run again in 2019. Approval of the legislative initiative, which now goes to a popular referendum in February 2016, takes place however days after the MAS government received another referendum-related setback.
