IACHR urges DR to revert retroactive removal of nationality

Development: On 9 February the government of the Dominican Republic (DR) described as “unacceptable” a report released that same day by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in which it urges it to fully restore the right to nationality to all those people affected by the 2013 ruling by the DR’s constitutional court (TC), which dictates that the children of foreign nationals born in the DR do not have the automatic right to Dominican citizenship.
