After weeks of scant progress government and guerrilla negotiating teams in Cuba took two significant steps in the space of three days this week: firstly, they agreed to enshrine a final accord struck in Havana in the Colombian constitution and legal system to make it difficult for a future government to reverse; secondly, the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) committed to identify and release all of the minors presently in guerrilla camps.
