Venezuela: The shortage economy

When things get really bad, humour sometimes is the only recourse. As Venezuela reels from ongoing shortages of power, water, food and medicines, the satirical website El Chiguire Bipolar announced that with the country becoming like Mars, it now could provide an ideal training ground for astronauts: “The conditions are perfect: no water, only light by day, ferocious heat and precarious food sources.”
