Argentina: On 27 July Argentina’s security minister, Patricia Bullrich, and the security secretary, Eugenio Burzaco, received officials from the US embassy in Buenos Aires ahead of a visit to Argentina scheduled this month by the US Secretary of State John Kerry, as part of efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking. According to a press release by Argentina’s security ministry, Bullrich was accompanied by representatives of the Argentine armed forces including the head of the national gendarmerie, Gerardo Otero, and the head of the naval prefecture, Eduardo René Scarzello. The US delegation from the embassy included Kristen Pisani (Economic Affairs Counsellor); Colonel Michael Rayburn (Defence Attaché); and Steven Genevish (Attaché for US Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA), among others.
