On 13 June, the US House of Representatives passed the United States-Caribbean Strategic Engagement Act with overwhelming bi-partisan support of 386 to 6. Just over a month later, on 14 July, the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere held a hearing on the “Strategic Importance of Building a Stronger US-Caribbean Partnership”.
