Argentina: Outlining a comprehensive national anti-drugs strategy

The government led by Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri is seeking to come up with a comprehensive new strategy to combat the spread of drug trafficking in the country. “Defeating drug trafficking” was one of the objectives that Macri set for his administration when he assumed office in December 2015. But this objective has not translated into a well-defined strategy. In a bid to change this, nine months into the job Macri is finally attempting to outline what this strategy will look like.
