Haiti passed-on the tag of most corrupt nation in Latin America to
Venezuela in the annual corruption perceptions index (CPI) released by the
Berlin-based NGO Transparency International this week. Venezuela slips below
Russia and is now tied with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea and
Kyrgyzstan at 164th out of 178 countries evaluated worldwide. In fairness,
Venezuela's score is actually ever so slightly better than last year and the
decline in the table can be attributed to a perceived significant improvement in
