NICARAGUA: Ortega sets another example

An example for the “rest of Latin America”. This was one of various accolades heaped on Nicaragua’s citizen security policy by the Peruvian ambassador to Managua, Rudencindo Vega Carriazo, during a recent meeting with head of police Aminta Granera at the Nicaragua police headquarters. His remarks serve as the latest example of international praise for the policy pursued by the government of President Daniel Ortega, which has so far managed to keep a lid on the security crisis currently plaguing its neighbours largely attributed to the spread of international drug trafficking organisations (DTOs) in the isthmus.
