At the end of the 22nd round of the Havana peace talks between the government led by President Juan Manuel Santos and the guerrilla Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) on 30 March, the two sides followed their usual pattern. They issued a joint communiqué bereft of details (in keeping with the agreed principle that nothing is agreed until everything is agreed) and then both sides separately issued statements which revealed how far apart they still are on certain matters.
