Though Máximo Kirchner, the son of President Cristina Fernández and her late husband, former president Néstor Kirchner (2003-2007), has long played a role in Argentine politics, until now it has been out of the spotlight. That changed on 13 September, when he addressed a rally of some 40,000 members of La Cámpora, the Kirchnerista youth group, at the Argentinos Juniors stadium in Buenos Aires.
