Back in June this year, at its national convention, the Partido do Movimento Democrático Brasileiro (PMDB) voted in favour of supporting President Dilma Rousseff’s candidacy in the presidential elections. But the support was less than overwhelming: 59% voted in favour of the alliance with the ruling Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), while 41% voted against. In 2010, 85% of the PMDB supported the agreement.
