An investigative report by the daily El Universal, based on information from the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (Ofac), has found that the number of so-called narcoempresas, Mexican firms suspected of links to major drug trafficking organisations, has been increasing in spite of heavier targeting by the Ofac since 2002.
