Mixed news from Jamaica

Crime in Jamaica is reported to be trending downwards, with a 20.2% decline in the Category One crime rate for January-September 2016 over the same period last year, that is from 218 crimes to 174. However, murders were up by 2.7%, reaching a rate of 34.8 per 100,000 population. The other unwelcome news from Jamaica was an Amnesty International report on extrajudicial killings.
