Uribe’s re-election in the balance
Alvaro Uribe could know by the end of September whether he will be able to run for a second term as president in 2006. The constitutional court is due to rule on the legitimacy of the re-election bill by November but there is intense speculation that the decision could be announced in the middle of this month.
