Haiti’s Préval pulls together coalition cabinet
President René Préval will begin his term in office with a coalition cabinet behind him. Political differences were set aside, for the time being at least, in early June when the senate and the lower house decided to approve Préval's chosen cabinet almost unanimously. The 18-strong cabinet, which will be led by Prime Minister Jacques Edouard Alexis, was sworn in at a ceremony in the national palace on 9 June.
