BRAZIL: Further efforts to dismantle Lava Jato legacy
Supreme court (STF) justice José Antonio Dias Toffoli suspended a fine on Brazilian construction giant Novonor on 1 February. Novonor was formerly known as Odebrecht and was central to the Lava Jato corruption scandal, although Dias Toffoli represents factions in Brazil’s judicial institutions that have sought to redress the miscarriages of justice carried out during the sprawling corruption probe.
