Weekly Report - 15 February 2024 (WR-24-06)

Peru’s President Dina Boluarte reshuffled her ministerial cabinet on 13 February, replacing four key ministers including economy & finance minister Álex Contreras. The others who were fired in the reshuffle were the ministers for defence, energy & mining, and the environment. It seems unlikely that these changes will lead to an improvement in the government’s dismally low approval ratings, which risk sinking even further amid a gloomy economic outlook.
