ARGENTINA: Milei clashes with industrialists
They were expected, but they did not come. Argentina’s President Javier Milei and his economy minister, Luis Caputo, were no-shows at the annual conference of the Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA) in Buenos Aires on 25 and 26 November. Although the industrialists on the one hand, and the government on the other, see themselves as champions of private enterprise, there are now some pretty big disagreements between them.
