VENEZUELA: Ratcheting up the pressure on Machado
Venezuela’s opposition figurehead María Corina Machado has accused the authorities of carrying out a campaign of harassment against her mother. This, the latest apparent effort by President Nicolás Maduro’s government to intimidate Machado into silence, comes as there is growing concern over the fate of six dissidents being sheltered in the Argentine embassy in Caracas.
