PERU: Can the police cut it?
On 1 December Peru’s interior minister Vicente Tiburcio, flanked by police chief Óscar Arriola, announced a major purge and reform of the Policía Nacional del Perú (PNP), the national police force. Rebuilding citizen trust in the PNP will be a big challenge.
