MEXICO | Industrial production continues to drop in annual terms. On 9 January Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) released its latest index of industrial activity (Imai), reporting a monthly 0.6% increase in industrial activity in November as compared to October 2025. This is down from a monthly increase of 0.9% in October. The monthly rise in the Imai was driven by a 1.6% increase in construction and a 0.5% rise in manufacturing, while mining and utilities (electricity generation and transmission, provision of water and gas) registered no change from the previous month. However, the Imai dropped by 0.1% in yearly terms. Year-on-year, manufacturing was down 0.8% and mining decreased by 1.0%, while construction and utilities both rose, by 3.0% and 1.1% respectively.
