On 3 June the Honduran legislative assembly approved a controversial ‘bill to strengthen and protect the agro-industrial sector’ despite expressions of concern from the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and human rights groups about its impact on Afro-descendent, indigenous, and rural campesino communities.
