*Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has released its consumer price index for August, putting monthly inflation at 0.39%. This was up from 0.17% in July and brought the annual rate in August to 6.24% - up from 6.03% the previous month. The monthly rise, which was higher than the 0.26% median forecast of analysts polled by Reuters, was mainly driven by price increases in the food and non-alcoholic drinks sector (+0.71%), as well as in housing, water, electricity, and gas (+0.38%), according to Dane. The categories that saw the largest monthly increases were recreation and culture (+0.89%) and information and communication (+0.81%), while the only one to see prices fall was clothing and footwear (-0.14%).
