In brief: Argentina hails record oil production in September
*Argentina’s energy secretariat, which sits under the economy ministry, has released new figures indicating that in September the country registered record oil production of 937,700 barrels per day, up 15.5% year-on-year, which it said was driven by activity in Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas fields in Patagonia. According to the same figures, gas production was 143.1m cubic metres per day in September, which it said was up 3.2% on September 2025.
