BRAZIL: Lula and Bolsonaro trade insults on TV debate
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the two 25 October presidential run-off candidates, faced off in a televised debate on 18 October for the first time. Neither candidate clearly won the debate, which featured little substantive policy discussion and more attempts by the candidates to insult and discredit each other, which political pundits suggest is unlikely to have helped either candidate impress many undecided voters.
