URUGUAY: Campaign closes on a first-round razor edge
Campaigning for the 31 October elections has entered its last leg without bringing an answer to the key question: will Tabaré Vázquez, candidate of the leftist Encuentro Progresista-Frente Amplio (EP-FA), win in the first round, or will he run the same risk as in 1999, when he was defeated in the runoff? The polls show findings that are too close to judge.
