The first week of 'pilot' patrols by the vigilante Minuteman Project (MP) in Arizona has been hard to assess, given the wave of conflicting reports purportedly conveying first-hand knowledge. The Mexican government is looking into allegations of 'improper' arrests by the vigilantes, which is denied by the MP - which, however, has been claiming credit for the detention by the Border Patrol of more than 240 illegal migrants.
