MEXICO | Remittance inflows still climbing. Remittances from Mexican expatriates in May reached US$1.88bn, or 17.4% more than in the same month of 2004. This took the accumulated total for the first five months to US$7.53bn, up 18.6% on the same period last year. A straight projection of this rate would put this year's total only 8.7% above last year's US$16.6bn, but it must be kept in mind that there is usually an upswing towards the end of a year.
