PANAMA: Congress approves tax reform
On 12 March the national assembly approved a tax reform which the government claims will increase annual revenues by US$200m. The main element in the reform is an increase in Value Added Tax (VAT). The government claims that wage earners will be the big beneficiaries of the reforms.
